Genial Houses - Celrão

Celrà

On a plot of complex topography we are asked to build two houses and to find a solution with a controlled expenditure. That's why we plan the buildings with the minimum earth movement, but without giving up the good orientation and the views.

We plan one of the homes as a great viewpoint towards the Gavarres massif. As if it were a box supported on the territory, the house is conceived as a large central kitchen and living room space. The large sloping porch allows great solar capture during the winter months while protecting from the heat in the summer.

The other house, with a more conventional program, is solved with a large central courtyard that divides the day and night spaces and fills the less sunny area with light and vegetation. The nanny's rooms share the hallway, dressing area and study.

Materiality is the most distinctive feature of the proposal. Carbonized wood as the only covering of the ventilated facades provides character, efficiency and ecology.
